NLCMH receives $1.2 million grant – TV 9 & 10
A mental health clinic is getting a lot of help so they can help more people.
Northern Lakes Community Mental Health in Traverse City was awarded a $1.2 million grant.
The money comes from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
CMH plans on using the money to help more patients with not only behavioral health needs but physical health needs too.
The money will allow them to open their integrated health care clinic more days of the week for patients, to make sure they’re getting the right care.
“Some of the medications that are prescribed have negative physical affects, so this will allow us to be able to monitor those within our own building ,” said Karl Kovacs, Chief Administrator Office for CMH.
After the first of the year they hope to have a regular third day available and might add more days after that.
