Mental Health First Aid is an evidence-based, internationally acclaimed course in which you learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, especially focused on youth, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help. Originally developed in Australia, Mental Health First Aid has spread across the globe.

Northern Lakes CMH offers Mental Health First Aid trainings at several times during the year using an in-person format to maximize learning and discussion opportunities. Our experienced trainers have taught hundreds of community members how to identify, understand, and respond to their friends and loved ones experiencing mental health challenges. The courses are 8 hours long and include a detailed manual.
