The 14th Annual Show will be virtual this May, 2021!
The 14th Annual Art of Recovery: The Human Journey show would have been held in person during November 2020 but COVID-19 made an in-person show impossible. Instead, we will hold a virtual show in May 2021 in honor of May is Mental Health Month.
Art of Recovery: The Human Journey is all about celebrating the healing power and resiliency of people in northern Michigan. The creations offer hope and demonstrate courage. It’s empowering to see that no matter what the challenge – mental illness, substance abuse, grief, loss, domestic violence, divorce—and now COVID-19—we all have struggles sometimes and we are resilient people who are all in this journey together.
We have heard over and over how important this show is to people who have faced challenges in the eye and come out the other side… and to the people who view the art. Sometimes people are filled with relief to see that they are not alone and realize that others have grappled with similar challenges and experienced some of the same things they do. This is why it is important that we find new ways to continue this event.
